| ANNUAL REPORT |
| A detailed annual report is compiled at the end of each
calendar year which explores the Association's activities and
accomplishments for the preceding year. It also provides an analysis
of the highway program for the previous year and forecasts for the
coming year.

| BID TABULATIONS |
| Within minutes after bids are opened, a list of unofficial
first and second bidders is available. After bids are checked by the
Kentucky Department of Highways (KDOH), a unit tabulation of each
item by first, second, and third bidders, and total of all bidders,
is computer processed and mailed on the letting day. Also bids on
the state's direct purchases of aggregates, bituminous materials,
etc., is available. Electronic bulletin board service for letting
tabulations now is available.

| DATA BASE |
| A detailed data base is maintained on all work orders issued
by KDOH. This file covers a period of nearly 40 years.

| DIRECTORY |
| A classified directory of Members and Associates is published
annually. This directory also contains a variety of useful
information on the Federal Highway Administration, Kentucky
Department of Highways, etc.
|
| GOVERNMENT RELATIONS |
| Staff members maintain close liaison with the General
Assembly, Federal Highway Administration, Kentucky Department of
Highways, etc., to keep the membership informed of actions that
could impact our industry.
|
| INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS |
| Industrial relations services include representation in
prevailing wage determinations, safety standards, and
employer/employee relations, both union and non-union.
|
| INSURANCE |
| A group health, life, accident, and disability insurance
program is available. Additionally a workers' compensation
self-insurance program is available. LIBRARY. A library is
maintained which contains publications of interest to the highway
construction field. Included are KDOH publications, regulations,
statutes, and periodicals.

| NEWSLETTER |
| A compilation of information on prospective heavy and highway
work, letting notices, awards, work orders, final estimate
approvals, new qualified contractors, specification changes, safety,
and other items of interest is published on alternate Tuesdays.
|
| OTHER SERVICES |
| A credit system is maintained with KDOH for ordering plans
and proposals through either the Association or the Department.
Notary service is available. Assistance is available on problems
that have industry-wide implications.

| PLAN ROOM |
| Record plans for road lettings are on file in the Plan Room,
usually a week prior to the bid date, and the night before a letting
are taken to the Letting Eve location. A listing of current proposal
holders is normally available at the KAHC office on Monday afternoon
preceding the letting with a revised copy available on Thursday
afternoon at both the KAHC office and the Letting Eve location.

| TRAINING |
| A wide range of seminars are planned each year to provide
assistance in complying with governmental requirements and in
staying competitive in a rapidly changing field.
