NEWSLETTER A bi-weekly compilation of information on prospective heavy and highway work, letting notices, new association members, specification changes, construction memorandums, safety, and other items of interest is published on alternate Tuesdays and distributed by email to the membership.

DIRECTORY A classified directory of members and associates is published annually. This directory also contains a variety of useful information on the Federal Highway Administration, the Kentucky Department of Highways, the General Assembly, Congress and other Departments of State Government.

COMMITTEES  Individual Board of Directors members serve as Chairpersons or Co-Chairpersons of various standing committees that address specific issues impacting the association. The committee structure allows for contractor and associate member input to technical and regulatory issues that concern the industry. These issues may involve the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, FHWA, or other state and national agencies. There are also committees comprised of members concerning association activities that require member input. The committees meet on an as-needed basis to address specific issues of interest to association members.

INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS  Industrial relations services include representation in safety standards and employer-employee relations, both union and non-union.

GOVERNMENT RELATIONS Staff members maintain close contact with the General Assembly, the Legislative Research Commission, the Federal Highway Administration, the Kentucky Department of Highways, etc. to keep the membership informed of actions that could impact the industry.

TRAINING Training sessions and seminars are planned each year either through KAHC, or by other agencies in coordination with KAHC to provide assistance in complying with governmental requirements and in staying competitive in a rapidly changing field.

INSURANCE A group health, life, accident and disability insurance program is available. In addition, a workers' compensation self-insurance program is available at very favorable rates.

WEBSITE KAHC has rolled out a new and improved website - https://kahc.org.  The web site is now more dynamic, and includes news updates of interest to the industry, photos of our contractors’ projects, and archived members-only information such as KAHC low bid sheets and bid tabulations and the bi-weekly KAHC newsletter.  The site also includes a one-stop location for frequently used links like the KYTC Construction Procurement page.

Members are now able to view, register, and pay for events via the Member Center on the web site.

BID TABULATIONS On letting day, KAHC generates bid tabulations for the top three bidders on each project in a format that is user friendly to view and to print. This information, along with a list of the apparent low bidders on the projects, is posted to the KAHC website, and a link is mailed to all of our members, notifying them that the information has been updated.

DATABASE KAHC keeps a comprehensive database of historical letting information for projects let through KYTC’s Division of Construction Procurement.

OTHER SERVICES Notary service is available and assistance is available on problems and situations involving the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet or other Kentucky government offices.
