MEMBERSHIP SERVICES COMMITTEE
Is populated by KAHC members and is responsible for the review of current KAHC programs and membership policies, ascertaining the needs of both Regular and Associate members and tailoring products and services to provide value to the membership.
CONTRACTS & SPECIFICATIONS COMMITTEE
Is populated exclusively by those currently serving on the KAHC Board of Directors and is responsible for the modification of existing contract forms and specifications, the drafting of new forms to be used between owners and general contractors, and any language pertaining to contracts and specifications that may affect general contractors or subcontractors.
Operating under the direction of CONTRACTS & SPECIFICATIONS COMMITTEE are six (6) SUBCOMMITTEES on which any KAHC member may serve:
BRIDGES SUBCOMMITTEE: is tasked with discussing the challenges and opportunities to enhance the design, techniques, and methods necessary to build and maintain structures/culverts on KYTC projects.
GRADING SUBCOMMITTEE: is tasked with discussing the challenges and opportunities to improve the techniques and practices used to deliver grading services on KYTC projects.
ENVIRONMENTAL SUBCOMMITTEE: is responsible for monitoring development in the agencies which regulate the highway construction industry. It also develops policy positions on changes which impact the highway construction industry.
MATERIALS SUBCOMMITTEE: evaluating the design, reliability, and availability of materials and/or new product required on KYTC projects
SAFETY SUBCOMMITTEE: is responsible for the annual KAHC Safety Awards program, reports on safety policies, and the administration/ accreditation of safety training programs implemented on KYTC highway contracts
SPECIALTY SUBCOMMITTEE: oversees installation and reliability of supportive areas of work such as striping, pavement markings, guardrail, seeding, fencing, erosion control, signing, electrical, & signalization.
